"None of the Senate candidates who ran in Georgia’s regular election achieved a majority on November 3, so the top two candidates in each race are now going head to head.
They are:
  • For the regular Senate race
Jon Ossoff (D), an investigative journalist who interned with the late John Lewis when he was a high schooler, is taking on David Perdue (R-incumbent), a businessman and bigot who ran the Dollar General chain that continues to exploit poor communities today.

  • For the special election to fill Senator Johnny Isakson’s seat
Reverend Raphael Warnock (D), who grew up in public housing and is now the pastor at Martin Luther King, Jr.'s former church, is trying to unseat Kelly Loeffler (R-incumbent), who strategically bought and dumped stock before key federal pandemic announcements so she could profit from the nation's crisis without lifting a finger to alleviate it.

Win both seats, and the Senate is a 50-50 tie between Democrats and Republicans, with Vice President–Elect Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker. Lose one or both, and Mitch McConnell maintains his stranglehold on legislation, costing us years of action on health care, climate change and more.
